Motherhood

With the progression of feminism since the end of the 19thcentury; women have fought for gender equality in many facets of life.  Having made much progress there is still a wealth of work that needs to be done to address the balance.  Women’s liberation has meant we are no longer confined to the home as daughters, wives, and mothers.  We have agency over our education and careers; but have all these steps readdressed the balance?  Whilst women have more possibilities in their lives, they also have taken on more responsibility to be able to do everything whilst the remainder of society has not changed at the same pace to take on the burden of traditionally female gender roles.  My series looks at the overwhelm of motherhood and the common feeling of being “touched out”.
